The latest Drought Monitor, released this morning, shows that most states have seen slight improvements in drought conditions compared to last week. This is due to recent rains that have improved conditions. The exception is Florida, where an area of severe (D2) drought on the southwest coast expanded due to continuing lack of rainfall. In Puerto Rico, there were no changes again this week. Substantial rains in the next week should result in continued improvements in most places other than Virginia and southern Florida.
