The tropics are the stars of this week’s rain forecast. TD Fred is expected to bring a lot of rain to Florida early this week, and then the focus mid-week will shift to northern GA and parts of the Carolinas and perhaps Virginia. The amount and timing of the rain depends tremendously on where the center of Fred goes, so this map will certainly change somewhat over time. Later in the week, Tropical Storm Grace is expected to bring another round of rain to South Florida. Depending on where Grace goes, other parts of the Southeast could also see rain at the storm moves to the NW and perhaps recurves to the NE. The long-range forecast for where Grace goes is pretty unclear at this point, so the timing, location, and amounts of rain from the second storm are also going to change over time.
