With short days and lots of cloudy days, winter is the time of year when we are most likely to see Seasonal Affective Disorder, or SAD. With cloud cover over the Southeast this week, it could be a big factor in your bad mood. For Alabama and the western half of Georgia, January or February are the cloudiest months of the year. For most of the rest of the region, it is one of the summer months, although with the longer days and stronger sunlight it does not feel as bad. If you are affected by the lack of sunshine, you might feel lethargic or depressed. Some people use treatments that add artificial sunlight to help beat SAD, but others just try to tough it out.
