The first of several tropical storm forecasts for the 2018 Atlantic hurricane season was released today by Colorado State University. It shows that they expect a slightly greater than normal number of storms and probability of making landfall in the US based on the weakening La Niña and ocean temperatures that are above normal in some places and below normal in others. You can read the details at https://tropical.colostate.edu/media/sites/111/2018/04/2018-04.pdf. Remember that it only takes one tropical storm making landfall near you to make this an active season for you, so be prepared before the season starts.
