WeatherNation TV reported this weekend that the town of Saint George in Charlton County had to be evacuated due to heavy smoke and fire from the West Mims fire which I have mentioned previously in this blog. The fire expanded rapidly over the weekend. Smoke from the fire traveled as far as Jacksonville FL. Mostly dry conditions this week will do little to help extinguish the blaze.
