Growing Georgia reprinted a story by Merritt Melancon of UGA on the recent string of very hot days here in Athens and other parts of Georgia yesterday.  You can read it here.  Another story about the hot weather appeared this morning in OnlineAthens.com here.  Both of them use information I provided from a number of sources of climate data, including cli-MATE and the Southeast Climate Center’s Perspectives tool.  If you get questions about how hot it’s been, these are great tools to use to provide some numbers.  In this thermograph, it shows that only one day had a below-normal high temperature the entire month.  Nighttime temperatures were mostly above normal too, in spite of the dry conditions.
