Some rain would sure be nice. Pivots have been running pretty hard. Dryland cotton stands have been taking a little hit. We have seen very few seed issues but the majority of the stand problems have been moisture related. For some of you, your POST 1 cotton sprays will be coming soon if not already. We have several recommendations depending on your situation and lots of data so just give us a call; we would be glad to help with those questions. Be scouting your watermelons because fusarium has reared its ugly head this week. If you interplanted cotton in your watermelons and fusarium attacks your melons, your cotton will be ok. Watermelon fusarium only attacks watermelons and cotton fusarium only attacks cotton. I’ve seen several 1st hay cuttings. We will be getting some information out on the Southeastern Hay Contest here soon. One of the more exciting things this week is that a kangaroo was spotted in the drive-through at Expresso 41. True story, I’m not making that up. Hold your heads high, focus on the positive and stay cool.
