Getting your Trinity Audio player ready…

I read somewhere that farming is a profession of hope, and it seems to me that planting is a perfect example of that. I’ve been talking with Extension agents, and all of them are intently focus on planting right now, as I’m sure many of you are too. It’s planting season—it’s hoping season. We hope and have faith that all the work farmers invest in planting will turn into the food we eat and fiber we wear.

Driving through South Georgia from Tifton to Morgan last week I saw lots of activity in the fields and I felt so much hope and gratitude for all that farmers are doing. But farming can be isolated work, and I wonder how many times a farmer actually hears someone say “Your farming makes me hopeful and grateful” or “Without farmers we’d have no future” or even just “Thank you”?

So rather than write about stress tips, this post I’m going to just hush up and say thank you to everyone who farms, and everyone who supports farmers.  Here are a few images I found that capture what I want to say, along with the song  Thank a Farmer and this video (sorry it’s from a commercial company, but it captures what I want to say—this isn’t a commercial!) Thank You Farmers . Why don’t you join me, and thank a farmer this week!
