With 12 district offices overseeing Georgia’s 159 counties, this state agency’s personnel are experts in forestry practices, including fire detection, suppression, and prevention, and the management, marketing, and development of Georgia’s expansive forests. They also have expertise in environmental and water quality, and many other forestry-related subjects.

The Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission was formed to protect, conserve and improve the soil and water resources of the State of Georgia. The Commission’s goal is to make Georgia a better place for its citizens through the wise use and protection of basic soil and water resources and to achieve practical water quality goals.

The Planning and Zoning Division is responsible for the administration of the Paulding County Zoning Ordinance including the interpretation and amendment. Questions related to zoning and land use, as well as agricultural ordinances are overseen by planning and zoning.

The Georgia Farm Bureau Federation is Georgia’s largest and strongest voluntary agricultural organization with more than 300,000 member families. It is an independent, non-governmental organization. Resource Conservation and Development, better known as RC&D, is a unique program that helps people initiate, sponsor, plan and implement projects that will make their communities better places in which to live. Since 1935, the Natural Resources Conservation Service originally called the Soil Conservation Service- has provided leadership in a partnership effort to help America’s private land owners and managers conserve their soil, water, and other natural resources. NRCS provides technical assistance based on sound science and suited to a customer’s specific needs. They provide financial assistance for many conservation activities. Participation in our programs is voluntary.
