Leadership Academy: For Extension Professionals

The 4-H Military Partnership Leadership Academy supports Extension professionals working with military-connected youth as they understand themselves as leaders, understand others as leaders of an organization, and understand leadership at the community level. The focus connects leadership concepts to  work with military-connected audiences and increases the participants’ capacity to enhance programming across the enterprise.  Applications are open through September 15.

Emotional Wellness Curricula: Third Thursday Session for all staff connected to the military

Thursday, August 17
Feelings can be confusing. Teaching young people how to identify emotions, build resilience, and know how to talk about mental health is a daunting task for youth development professionals, but it is vital to the health of our young people. According to the National Council on Wellbeing, 1 in 5 American adolescents has a mental health disorder. Young people need to be educated on discussing their mental wellbeing and asking for help when needed. This new 4-H curriculum is perfect for starting those conversations with 8 to 12-year-olds. The project book helps you explore emotions, how to express them, and how to react to them positively. Join co-authors Amanda Raines and Jami Dellifield from Ohio State University Extension to learn how to use this curriculum with your 4-H youth, after-school programs, and all the youth you serve.
