Project Learning Tree is an award-winning, research-based curricula used around the world to teach about forest ecosystems. These activities could be incorporated into after-school club programming, STEM Nights, community partnerships, etc. Last year, Project Learning Tree revised its K-8 Curriculum Guide … now called Explore Your Environment. Like any revised book, there is new content, updated content, and removed content.
Kasey Bozeman, 4-H Science Specialist, is hosting Project Learning Tree – Explore Your Environment (SES-024023) training on December 6, 2022, at the Houston County Extension Office (located at 2030 Kings Chapel Rd, Perry, GA 31069). For Robins AFB and Moody AFB this is a fairly short drive for a quality face-to-face training. The training session will be from 8:30am-5:00pm.
- The cost of this training $35 which includes the Project Learning Tree – Explore Your Environment K-8 Guide and materials. All costs associated with this training are the responsibility of the AFB
- An optional catered box lunch from Chic-Fil-A is available for an extra $10. You’ll be able to choose a specific entrée (sandwich, nuggets, etc.) along with chips, a cookie, and a canned drink/bottled water.
Communicate with Laura Goss at laurwalt@uga.edu to register staff. Please share the following:
- Staff name(s)
- If they would like to order a boxed lunch, or if they plan to bring their own.
- Be prepared to bring a check for payment to the training. More details forthcoming once registered.
- Register by December 1st
Additionally, Georgia 4-H is gearing up for our 2023 training offerings. I will communicate funded training (covered by the military grant), optional face-to-face training, and virtual training that Robins AFB is welcome to participate in. I look forward to communicating with you all soon on these offerings.
