In 2018, approximately 10 million households in America were home to a backyard poultry flock. Benefits of keeping poultry include fresh eggs, fertilizer, insect control, and entertainment (of a legal variety). If you are interested in learning more about keeping your own flock, join the Lincoln County Extension Office for a four-week seminar series from January 27th through February 17th. UGA Specialist Dr. Casey Ritz will present on February 10th over nutrition, economics, and disease prevention. Other topics will include breeds, housing, biosecurity, egg production, meat production and more. Seminars will be held at 6:30PM each Monday, light refreshments will be provided. Registration by January 20th is required and program fee is $25 per participant.
