Dear Lincoln County,
My name is Robyn Stewart and I am your new full-time UGA Extension Agriculture and Natural Resource Agent. I have spent the last two years working as a Sales Specialist for Purina Animal Nutrition in central NY with a focus on livestock feed sales. I developed business plans for 14 key distributors, pursued key customers, and lead all public outreach, education, and sponsorship events for my region. Prior to that, I received my M.S. in Equine Science from Middle Tennessee State University (2017) and my B.S.A in Animal Science from the University of Georgia (2015). My graduate research on forage quality was conducted at the Purina Animal Nutrition Research Farm in St. Louis, Missouri and was presented at the Equine Science Symposium in 2017.
Throughout my childhood, I was able to ride and compete horses and continue to do so today. My current horse, Webb, is qualified for Arabian Horse Association National Championships in 2020 in both Amateur Ranch Riding and Amateur Reining. While horses were my first love, I have spent the past few years focused on supporting producers of other livestock species including beef, backyard poultry, small ruminants, and show animals. I look forward to using my prior experiences here in Lincoln County and am eager to learn about the other segments of agriculture that exist here.
This week, I wanted to reach out to extend my sincere gratitude for your support of the Lincoln County extension programs. Your contributions of ideas, attendance at events, and other resources are a cornerstone of our success and growth. The Lincoln County office is eager to begin discussion of new opportunities that we can provide to our community including but not limited to a 4-H horse club, educational events/seminars, livestock/horse shows, and aquaculture programming.
Please don’t forget that UGA Extension exists for the benefit of our community and our youth—if there is anything at all we can do for you, please do not hesitate to reach out and let us know. I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you in the upcoming months!
Sincerely,
Robyn Stewart
