The Candler and Evans County Extension Offices are excited to announce a series of valuable crop production meetings scheduled for this winter. These sessions are designed to provide growers with the latest research, insights, and practical advice for managing cotton, peanuts, tobacco, and pecan crops in the upcoming season. Whether you’re a seasoned farmer or just getting started, these meetings are a great opportunity to stay informed and make decisions that will benefit your farm. Pesticide CEUs will be offered at each meeting.

Meeting Schedule:

  1. Cotton Production Meeting – Candler Gin and Warehouse – Metter, GA -January 24, 2025 at 12 noon
  2. Pecan Production Meeting – Evans County Recreation Dept. – Claxton, GA – January 28, 2025 at 12 noon
  3. Peanut Production Meeting – Growers Supply and Gin – Metter, GA – February 7 at 8 am – Breakfast
  4. Tobacco Production Meeting – Bevricks Char House and Grille – Metter, GA – February 14 at 12 noon

Each meeting will cover a range of topics specific to the respective crop, from pest management to fertility strategies and best practices for achieving optimal yields. The goal is to provide practical, research-backed information that can be directly applied to improve farm productivity and profitability.

To help us prepare for each session, we ask that you register in advance. This will assist in meal planning and ensure we have enough resources for everyone attending.
