Its time to spread this news and I hope this is an effective as well as appropriate first step. I’ll be moving counties as the UGA Ag and Natural Resource Agent in Crisp County to a county in the NE part of the state. My last day here will be November 30, 2023.

Crisp County has become a home away from home to me. I have thoroughly enjoyed working for this community and working as part of its UGA Extension Office these past 6.5 years. Getting to know y’all, the clientele as homeowners and producers, has been the highlight of this position. Whether it was scouting row crops shoulder to shoulder in a Polaris with a farmer or assessing turf grass issues in the lawn of a property owner, this job rewarded 10-fold through its interactions with people.

I’m dedicated to working with you and the rest of the Crisp County Office to ensure a smooth transition. Please if you need me over the next month, don’t hesitate to call. You can reach me on my work cell, 229-417-7062, till November 15th – after which please use the office number, 229-276-2612, to get a hold of me till the end of the month. Once a new Ag agent starts in this county, they should have the same work cell.

I have truly enjoyed serving y’all and spending time with our watermelons, cotton, peanuts, pecans, livestock, etc for these past 7 growing seasons. Appreciate y’all for what you do for this community, state, and country with your food and fiber production. Ensuring that Ag stays America’s #1 industry.

Best Wishes,

Joshua Grant
