Been watching aphid populations build in cotton steadily for a month or so now. Reports are now coming in that the aphid fugus, Neozygites fresenii, has been spotted. Dr. Philip Roberts, UGA Cotton Entomologist, mentions that this should cause their numbers to crash in his latest “Pest Patrol Update” which can be listened to at the button link below.
In this update (07-12-2021, 3 min 37 sec runtime): aphid fungus, tarnished plant bug scouting continues, and primetime for corn earworm – check in blooms/bloom-tags/small bolls under uppermost white bloom.
Give me a call with questions and/or if I can put boot prints in a field.
Thanks.
Best Wishes,
Joshua Grant
