The Washington Post had an interesting column earlier this week on the air quality issues associated with the extensive forest fires that are occurring out west this year. I remember last year how fires associated with the 2016 drought in the Southeast brought smoky conditions to my area and walking outside meant walking into smoky haze that made it seem as if the fires were just a few miles away instead of more than a hundred. The smoke particles are hazardous to the people in the area but are also dangerous for livestock and wildlife. You can read more about it here.
