Brad Haire reported in the Southeast Farm Press today that the recent rain that has spread across Georgia in the last few weeks has helped improve corn conditions in the 20% of corn in the state that is not irrigated. A three-week dry spell had farmers worried about yield, but those producers have been relieved by the increased rainfall in June. It’s too early to say how much of an impact the dry spell will have on the ultimate yield but farmers are hopeful, although they don’t expect as good a crop as in 2018 with its ample rainfall.
