The Southeast Farm Press posted an interesting story by Brad Haire this week on how the wet conditions have affected our farmers in the last few weeks. I have heard many agents and producers saying the same thing–we would rather have a lot of rain than a drought, but…it is hard to get work done when you can’t get in the fields and you can’t spray the chemicals you need to protect the yields in the crops. The wet conditions even postponed the Sunbelt Ag Expo due to soggy field conditions. This week should give us a little drier conditions and warmer temperatures, but scattered showers will continue to be an issue.
