While I was driving home from a meeting with farmers in Albany, GA today I heard this great story on National Public Radio about the Oklahoma network of weather stations that is similar to the UGA network here in Georgia, although the Oklahoma mesonet is larger, older and much better staffed. The story details some of the information they collect and how they are using it to prepare for changes in climate. There are similar networks in Florida, Alabama and North Carolina too.
