Today, May 23, is Heat Awareness Day for the National Weather Service. Memorial Day marks the unofficial start of summer for many people, and heat is one of the major killers of people and animals in summer months. Meanwhile, the next few days show the possibility of rain across most of the Southeast with the exception of southern Alabama. The rain should move into most of the area on Sunday afternoon and continue into Tuesday in the form of scattered showers and thundershowers.
Rome Ethredge reports that the recent warm and dry conditions have really helped the corn in southwest Georgia to shoot up.
