Today marks the 18th birthday of the Community Collaborative Rain Hail and Snow network, more frequently known as CoCoRaHS. Nolan Doesken, the founder of the network, has some interesting information on how the network got started in his most recent newsletter, which you can read here.
I have been a CoCoRaHS observer in Clarke County, Georgia, since the network started in that state, and am also a regional coordinator for regions 1 and 3 there. Many of you may be CoCoRaHS observers as well. If you are not, now is a great time to start! There are still many places without a single observer in an entire county. You just need an appropriate rain gauge and a station designation to start reporting your daily rainfall. You can find more information at https://www.cocorahs.org.
