This year, Christmas is shaping up to be one of the warmest on record across a large part of the United States, although here in the Southeast we may miss setting a new record by a few degrees. Still, I am planning on raking my yard on Christmas Eve in shorts and a T-shirt this year with temperatures well into the 70s. We don’t expect to see these warm temperatures occur every year, but with a climate that is getting warmer over time, we can expect warmer temperatures to occur more often in the future. The Week had an interesting article this week talking about other impacts a warmer climate is likely to have on both the trees we decorate and the gifts we give.
