In news this week, it was reported that NASA as well as other government websites will no longer provide copies of the National Climate Assessments that are produced every four years at the request of Congress. I was an author of the Southeast chapter of NCA5. The group of authors that was starting to work on the 6th National Climate Assessment has been disbanded so it is not clear when or if it will be produced. The documents provide a summary of the latest research on how climate is changing across the United States and what impacts are being seen from these changes as well as what we can expect in the future. If you would like to read these documents going forward, I am happy to note that they have been archived at https://openclimate.org/u-s-national-climate-assessments-complete/. The site also includes reference lists, atlases, and supplementary material.
