The latest monthly and seasonal outlook for the US was released today by NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center. It shows that warmer than normal temperatures are expected across the region, due to a combination of a long-term warming trend and the current moderate La Nina. Precipitation is also expected to be lower than normal as La Nina pushes the storm track north of our region. Because of the warm and dry conditions, drought development is likely across southern AL, GA, and SC and in northern Florida.
