The latest Drought Monitor, released today, shows that drought improved in Alabama, northern Georgia, and South Carolina but generally stayed the same or got worse in many other areas, including Florida and North Carolina. Overall, the area of drought increased slightly, although the area of exceptional (D4) drought did decrease a bit. In Puerto Rico, there is still no drought, but the area of abnormally dry conditions (D0) expanded slightly. With quite a bit of rain expected in the next week, we can expect to see improvements in many areas.
