Here is an interesting story from UF/IFAS Extension on improving cold hardiness of plants like citrus using seaweed extract that I read last week at https://nwdistrict.ifas.ufl.edu/phag/2025/11/21/boosting-citrus-cold-hardiness-with-seaweed-extract-biostimulants/. The seaweed extract does not just protect the plants but also helps enhance cold hardiness, reduce freeze damage, and improve root vigor and plant growth. I do not know if this has been tested yet on other fruit varieties other than citrus but I am sure that is coming in the future. According to the article, this is best applied ahead of the first freeze to help prepare the plant for cold weather, so it may be too late for this year since most parts of the region except in Florida have already had their first freeze of the year.
