The World Meteorological Organization recently released its latest State of the World report. In it, it describes the carbon dioxide levels as the highest in 800,000 years and the annual average global temperature for 2024 as the highest since records began 175 years ago. An El Nino enhanced the warming caused by carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases, adding extra warmth to the atmosphere over an unusually warm Eastern Pacific Ocean in the early months of the year. You can read more about the report findings at CNN here.
