The latest 7-day QPF map (not shown here but you can view it at https://www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov/qpf/day1-7.shtml) shows a virtually rain-free week except perhaps for some showers later this weekend in the Southern Appalachians. A cold front is moving through the region early in the week, bringing much colder air to the region. Some models indicate that it could bring some frost to higher elevations and the mountains could even see isolated freezing conditions in frost-prone areas on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. This is right around the median date for the first 32 F weather in those locations. After that it should gradually warm up again and no other frost appears in the models for a couple of weeks.
