Fall armyworms are plaguing pastures and hayfields in many areas of the Southeast. This year they have been particularly bad, and I have pictures of significant damage to peanuts and lawns, which are not always affected. In Georgia armyworms have been observed in most counties except near the coasts, in the mountains, and in metro Atlanta. They have also caused a lot of problems in Alabama and in the Carolinas too. Here are a couple of resources for what they are and how you can treat them.
