After all the rain we have been having, farmers are no doubt excited to hear that this week should be nearly dry for most of the region. That will allow a lot of planting and other field work to take place. The wettest areas will be in northern Alabama and eastern Virginia while Florida will experience almost no rain at all. Weeks 2 through 4 show some variations of temperature and precipitation over time but average out to fairly close to normal conditions for most of the region. The most variable weather appears to be in North Carolina and Virginia, which are still experiencing more early spring weather than the rest of the Southeast. The small areas of drought in eastern NC and in Puerto Rico are likely to go away in the coming weeks, leading to a drought-free Southeast!
