A stalled storm system in the central US is bringing round after round of severe weather to that region, but very little rain is expected to make it east to the Southeast in the next week. Alabama will see the best chance since it is nearest that strong system, but most of the rest of the region will see little to no rain for the next seven days. That will allow fieldwork to continue but as abnormally dry areas expand due to the lack of rain, that may put stress on already planted crops and reduce germination of newly planted seeds. It could also affect corn pollination in areas where it is nearly ready to reproduce. Week 2 shows a continuation of above-normal temperature and a slightly better chance of rain except in the southern tip of the Florida Peninsula.
