For those of you who are meteorologists or climatologists like me, thank you for your service to your community! I had the good fortune to spend most of last week with about 7,000 meteorologists/climatologists/atmospheric and oceanic scientists and the annual meeting of the American Meteorological Society and came away impressed at how hard most meteorologists are working to understand the atmosphere and to communicate its risks and glories to the larger community. Today is National Weatherperson’s Day, so that your meteorologist for her or his hard work!
