The latest outlook from NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center continues to show the continuing influence of this year’s strong El Nino according to maps released yesterday. Wetter than normal conditions are expected from Florida north to the southern parts of GA and AL, while temperatures are expected to remain close to normal due to the tug between El Nino cooling and warming due to the long-term upward trend in temperature due to global warming. El Nino is expected to weaken in the next few months but we think that the impacts on Southeastern climate are likely to continue for the next few months.
