It’s been another cold morning with one more to come before things start to warm up. But the pattern is changing and we will be much warmer by the end of the week as we draw up warm, moist air from the Gulf ahead of a low pressure center that will approach us later in the week. Some places in Florida could see 80 degrees and 60s are possible in a lot of the region. With the warm, moist air will come an increased chance of rain in the western part of the region, especially Alabama and the western part of the Florida Panhandle. This is not all bad because drought has been lingering there, and this should help reduce it. Do not get used to the warmer air, though. Even though the next couple of weeks are expected to be above normal, the longest range predictions show up going back into colder-than-normal conditions by late February.
