The latest Drought Monitor, released today, shows that recent rains have reduced drought and abnormally dry conditions in most of the region, but the lack of rain in Florida has led to a reappearance of moderate (D1) drought along the West Coast of the peninsula this week. There were no changes in Puerto Rico this week. Most of the region will see seasonal rains this week, and Alabama could be quite wet, while an area centered around Augusta GA is predicted to receive less than half an inch in the next 7 days. In the next week, the area with the highest likelihood of wetter-than-normal conditions is in the northern third of the region.
