Here is a very helpful online tool that I used today for creating custom maps of NCEI normals for anywhere in the United States that you might like to try. It was created by the Northeast Regional Climate Center and is located at https://ncei-normals-mapper.rcc-acis.org/. It is quite easy to use. It allows you to pick locations, variables (temperature and precipitation), monthly or yearly, contour intervals, and color schemes. I used it today to create maps of annual temperature and precipitation for Georgia for a talk I am giving next week to the Georgia Grape Growers on June 24. You can see it is not quite perfect because there are a few grids that are blank and show up white on the temperature map, but overall it is a very useful way to create a local map that shows the variation of climate across a region. On the map below you can see the size of the grid, so it might not be as useful for individual counties. If you specify a point using latitude and longitude, it can also give you the average temperature and precipitation at that point.
