You may have noticed I’ve been posting less often than normal this week. I’ve been busy this week attending the 2023 Georgia Climate Conference in Athens that was organized by the Georgia Climate Project. This meeting of over 500 university and government scientists, students, policymakers, business people, and social scientists discussed how the changes we are seeing in climate, including warmer temperatures, more variable rainfall, and more extreme weather, are affecting their companies, communities, and families. It was exciting to hear about all of the variety of activities that are underway to understand what impacts are likely and to showcase what people are already doing about it. I hosted a session on climate and agriculture on Monday. All sessions were recorded and those videos should be made available to the public at some point in the future. For now, you can read more about the Georgia Climate Project at https://www.georgiaclimateproject.org/ and start planning ahead for their next meeting in two years on Jekyll Island at the conference center there.
