The latest 7-day QPF map shows that most areas of the Southeast should get at least an inch of rain this week. Southwest Alabama could see some extra rain from the remains of Potential Tropical Cyclone 4, which is in the western Gulf of Mexico and is expected to move into southern Texas or northeastern Mexico in a day or two. The East Coast and most of the Florida peninsula are also likely to see heavier rain this week as a weak front in the area continues to be a focus of daily storms. In the tropics, a wave is moving off of Africa today and has a 20 percent chance of developing into a tropical storm in the next 5 days.
