The Atlantic tropical season is almost upon us. Here is a recent Forbes posting by UGA’s Dr. Marshall Shepherd that discusses things to keep an eye on as we approach the beginning of the season. We may see some activity earlier than June 1, the official start of the season, if the cutoff low that is expected to stall off the East Coast develops some tropical characteristics and becomes a named storm (most likely a sub-tropical storm) as has occurred several times in the past few years.
