The preliminary climate maps for April 2022 are now available from the High Plains Regional Climate Center. They show that Florida and the coastal plains regions of other states were mostly a bit warmer than normal, while the inland areas in the northwestern part of the region were slightly cooler than normal. Rainfall in many areas was drier than normal, but a few individual storm events caused some bands of wet conditions in parts of the Southeast, notably in a band from southern Alabama through central Georgia and western South Carolina. A second area of wet conditions occurred in central Florida.
