NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center issued their March through May climate forecasts today. They show a continuation of the typical La Nina pattern in temperature and precipitation for both March and the March through May period. The seasonal drought outlook shows that drought is likely to continue or expand in a lot of Florida and up the East Coast. Note that the signal is stronger for temperature than precipitation. That is most likely due to the continuing trend towards warmer temperatures as the climate gets warmer in addition to the influence of the La Nina.
