You’ve probably seen many pictures of the devastation caused by the tornadoes that hit the Arkansas, Illinois, and Kentucky areas a few days ago. What you might not know is that the tornado that hit Mayfield, KY, also destroyed an Extension research farm near there. Fortunately, no one was in the building that night and so no lives were lost, but several of the staff members lost their homes as well as their workplace. Many hands showed up to help with the cattle, equipment, and other resources of the research center, but it will be a long time before things return to a semblance of normal. Our hearts go out to our extension friends there. What would you do if it happened to your place of work?
