NOAA released their updated outlook for the Atlantic hurricane season today. It shows that there is a 65% chance of an above-normal number of storms this season and only a 10% chance it will be less than normal. Considering how many storms we have already had (5), this is not a surprise. NOAA predicts 15-21 named storms, with 7-10 hurricanes and 3-5 major hurricanes. Of course, we don’t know where they will go, but I would say there is a good chance that at least a few of them will come over the Southeast. While things are still relatively quiet, now is a great time to complete your preparations for extreme weather.
