The Southeast Farm Press posted a story this week about the unique challenges corn growers in the Southeast have when trying to produce a crop compared to the Midwestern Corn Belt. For one thing, in our region they have to deal with more pests and diseases that are not a problem for Iowa farmers. The Midwestern farmers don’t have to deal with hurricanes either, although they do have strong windstorms that affect their region from time to time. You can read more at
