NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center released their latest monthly and seasonal forecasts this week. They show that May, the May-July period, and the August-October periods are all expected to be warmer and wetter than normal for most of the Southeast. The warmer than normal conditions reflect the long-term trend towards warmer temperatures we have observed since the 1960s in the region. The wetter than normal conditions may reflect the expectation for another active tropical season this year under neutral ENSO conditions.
