On Twitter this morning I ran across an article from Bloomberg News which noted that the Chattanooga TN airport (just outside Georgia) is working to become the first completely solar-powered airport in the US. They are working with their local power utility, U. Tennessee-Knoxville, and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory to add solar cells and battery storage to the facility, making it completely solar powered by 2019. You can see some pictures and read more here. If they can do it for an airport, certainly many other facilities could also use solar to provide some power at their locations as well.
