Do you know the difference between weather and climate? You’d be surprised by how many people are confused. There are a variety of analogies that I use to describe the difference between the two. Here are some that might work for you:

  1. Climate is the clothes in your closet; weather is what you put on today.
  2. Weather is your mood; climate is your personality.
  3. Climate is a baseball player’s batting average; weather is what he does in any particular at-bat.

Here is an article which describes the differences as well at Scientific American at https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/hot-planet/dont-be-fooled-weather-is-not-climate/. Do you have your own analogy that works well? I would love to hear it, just email and let me know.
