NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center released their latest outlooks yesterday for August 2018 and the August through October 2018 period. The maps show that precipitation has an increased chance of being above normal for the next month, although the signs are less clear for the August through October period. Temperatures for the next three months are expected to be above normal based on long-term trends, but for August there are equal chances of below, near, or above normal conditions due the likelihood of wet and cloudy conditions keeping the temperatures cooler than the long-term trend would expect.
