Do you remember all the agricultural damage from Hurricanes Harvey and Maria last year? Or from the wildfires in California? Congress voted in February to provide disaster aid to those farmers to the tune of $2.36 billion. But very little of that money has been paid to producers yet, causing them to become concerned and frustrated as they wait for their payments. The Packer has more about this here. I don’t see anything in this story about the agricultural losses in Puerto Rico from Hurricane Maria, but surely they should be getting payments as well. If not, I would like to know why.

Citrus groves in Florida remained under flood waters Sept. 13 after Hurricane Irma. “It’s still too early to know the full extent of the damage to Florida citrus,” Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Adam Putnam said in a Sept. 13 news release.
